Myth or Fact? Frequent urge to pass urine is just an age related problem



In older men, enlarged prostate obstructs the passage of urine which makes them go to the toilet again and again as they are not able to void completely. Prostate is gland between urinary bladder and urethra. It can be enlarged due to hyperplasia or cancer and lead to difficulty in passing urine. 
A blood test Serum PSA can tell if there is a doubt for cancer or not. If there is no doubt of cancer, the patient can get relief with medicines or endoscopic surgery. But if PSA is raised, further investigations are done to confirm the diagnosis and treatment is done accordingly.
