MP MRI for prostate


If someone has raised PSA levels found during work up for urinary symptoms or during a routine check, further investigations are required to confirm if there is cancer or not. Multiparametric MRI precisely looks at all areas of prostate, finds out if there are any tumours and also tells us the chances of them being cancerous. If any tumour in prostate is seen, mp MRI grades it from 1 to 5 as per the risk of it being cancer.
Thus multiparametric MRI a specially designed tool to find out if prostate biopsy should be done or not and also the area from which the biopsy is to be done.
